Summer Camp F.A.Q.

From what age can children participate in the Neue Schule Summer Camp?

Campers must have completed Pre-Kindergarten by June 2026. Children who have completed Kindergarten or any grade of Primary School are also welcome to participate.
We have designed activities suitable for all age groups.

Can students from other schools participate?

Absolutely! The Neue Schule Athen Summer Camp welcomes all children, whether or not they attend our school.
Our camp community warmly welcomes everyone.

Is knowledge of the German language required to participate?

At Neue Schule we love the German language, but knowledge of German is not required in order to participate in the Summer Camp.
The only requirements are a positive attitude, a wonderful smile, and a swimsuit!

My child will attend Neue Schule next school year. Can they join the Summer Camp?

We would strongly recommend it! Children who attend the Summer Camp adapt much more easily when the school year begins in September.
They get to know other students, become familiar with the school environment, build friendships and meet the teachers in a relaxed and fun setting.
Especially for younger children, this makes the transition to school much smoother and more enjoyable.

Until when and how can I register my child?

The number of participants in the Summer Camp is limited. Once all places are filled, registrations will close.
In order to maintain the highest level of safety and supervision, we keep a specific number of children per educator.
For this reason, we recommend registering as early as possible.

Can my child stay for additional weeks if I did not originally register them?

Yes, if space is available! Participation in additional weeks depends on the number of campers registered for each week.

My child does not know how to swim. What should I do?

That is not a problem, as long as we are informed in advance.
Before the Summer Camp begins, the teacher responsible for your child will contact you to introduce themselves and discuss anything important regarding your camper.

Please make sure to mention if your child does not know how to swim. We will take all necessary safety precautions at both the pool and the beach so that your child can safely enjoy swimming with friends.

Can my child be in the same group as their friend?

Yes, provided they are the same age.
Some activities are shared by all campers, while others are designed specifically for particular age groups, based on their interests and abilities.

Will my child have time to participate in all the activities?

When children are having fun, time always seems to pass quickly!
There are some activities in which all campers participate, as we believe it is important for children to explore new experiences beyond their daily routines.

At the same time, we offer a wide variety of activities, allowing children to choose according to their interests.
Our goal is for every child to remain engaged, inspired and entertained throughout the program.

What should children bring with them each day?

Each child should bring:

  • A change of clothes to keep in their locker
  • An extra swimsuit
  • A hat and sunscreen
  • A water bottle for fresh drinking water

If you choose not to use the school meal option, please also provide morning snack and lunch.

Water games are very popular with children, and of course we do not want them to miss out on the fun!

How can I see the Summer Camp program?

The program is already available on the school website.
Simply select the program that interests you to see the weekly activities in detail.

For further information you may contact us at:
+30 210 9955997 (Mr. Giorgos Andrikos)

Will there be changes to the program?

Changes may occur depending on weather conditions.
However, all planned weekly activities will still take place, possibly on different days.

In the case of severe weather, some outdoor activities may be postponed to ensure the safety of the campers.

Is a pediatric medical certificate required?

A medical certificate is required only for children who are not students of our school.

We will need either:

  • A copy of the Student Health Record, or
  • A pediatrician’s certificate confirming that the child is healthy and able to participate in sports activities and swimming.

Is there a school nurse or doctor present?

Yes. Neue Schule employs a full-time school nurse who remains with the campers throughout the Summer Camp, including during external activities.

In addition, the school collaborates with a pediatrician in Ilioupoli in case immediate medical assistance is needed.

My child has allergies. Can they still participate?

Yes. A school nurse is present at all times.
Depending on the severity of the allergy, the nurse may contact the child’s treating physician before the camp begins in order to receive clear instructions.

Is there a charge for school bus transportation?

No. Transportation is free of charge.

When will I receive information about bus routes and schedules?

On Thursday, June 11, you will receive an email with the bus stop and pick-up / drop-off time.

On Friday, June 12, the bus escort will contact you in order to introduce themselves.

Are there meeting points for the buses?

No. The school buses stop as close as possible to your home, provided that the location is accessible.

How can I contact the bus attendant?

Each attendant is a trusted and experienced staff member hired by the school.
You will receive their phone number by email so you can communicate with them directly.

Can my child be dropped off at a different address?

Yes, provided that this is communicated to the school in advance.

Who else can pick up my child?

Any person you authorize may pick up your child, provided that:

  • You have informed the school in advance, and
  • They present a valid ID at pick-up.

Are your teachers experienced and trustworthy?

All Summer Camp educators are teachers and long-term collaborators of the school.
They are experienced professionals whom we trust with our students not only during the Summer Camp but throughout the entire school year.

Our children are too important to entrust to people we do not know well.

Will there be a teacher responsible for my child?

Each group consists of approximately 15 children, supervised by a lead teacher.
Younger groups are also supported by an assistant educator.

The teacher will contact you before the start of the Summer Camp and will provide their mobile phone number so that you have direct communication if needed

How will we know the Summer Camp menu?

The menu will be sent together with the camp registration confirmation.

Three days before the start of each week you will receive a link where you can select:

  • whether your child will eat from the school menu
  • whether they will have morning snack, lunch, or both

If I choose school meals, must my child eat them every day?

No. You can choose freely according to your needs and your child’s preferences.

What if I forget to send food with my child?

We will never allow a child to remain without food — hungry children cannot play!
